Family Chiropractic Center of Gaffney, SC
Chiropractic Techniques

Family Chiropractic Center uses a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference.

After Dr. Kevin has reviewed your case history forms, your spine will be physically examined. Your nerve system will be analyzed by the Truscott method to determine where subluxation is present, if at all. If our analysis confirms the presence of subluxation(s) in your case, it is your choice whether or not you want to proceed with receiving adjustments. Upon choosing to do so, we will use various methods of adjusting that are specific to our analysis of your spine and nerve system. These methods are selected from many of the major technique styles in chiropractic clinical practice today combined with Dr. Kevin’s experience adjusting spines for 24 years.

The primary adjusting techniques we use include:

Think of an adjustment as “tuning” a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.

Truscott System of Analysis

The Truscott System is a pure form of Chiropractic whereby we determine the block in the transmission of nature’s forces over nerve pathways by a neurological reflex induced by the chiropractor that obtains an instantaneous analysis of the vertebral position causing the block. The underlying principle was discovered and developed in the 1930’s by Leon Lewis Truscott, D.C., Ph.C. The Truscott System is simplicity itself when properly applied.

Why We Use this Technique:

We feel any adjustment technique is thoroughly dependent upon a method of analysis giving us a precise “picture” of your spinal problems so we can properly begin a course of care tailored exactly to your specific needs. The System allows us to determine both if and where your spine is subluxated instantly and exactly, without dependency upon X-ray analysis. It provides a before and after adjustment analysis giving both direction and feedback for the adjustment procedures. Simply stated, it tell us if you need to be adjusted and where; then after the adjustments are given, it tells us if we have successfully done so. It’s similar to being X-ray analyzed each and every time, and also takes into consideration any unusual shapes in your unique spinal bone structures.

We take X-rays only in the case where your SAFETY is concerned. If, during the course of examination and subsequent adjustments, we discover anything unusual we certainly will “look inside” before proceeding. Your SAFETY is our primary concern! We have great respect for radiation exposure and will take those measures only when necessary to protect you.

Diversified

At Family Chiropractic, we use an adjusting style commonly referred to as Diversified. After identifying which vertebrae have lost their normal motion or position, a specific manual thrust is applied to free up “stuck” spinal joints. read more»
